Kamal Haasan and Sridevi starer ‘Shigappu Rojakkal’, directed by Bharathiraja, was released 40 years ago and became a huge success. This film was dubbed into Telugu and released as Erra Gulabilu. The Telugu version was also successful and also been remade in Hindi. 40 years later, the sequel to ‘Shigappu Rojakkal’ is on cards.
Director Bharathiraja is penning the story and will bankroll this project which will be directed by Bharathiraja’s son Manoj. They want to cast Mahanati fame, Keerthy Suresh, in the role of Sridevi and the inside’s information is that Keerthy has also given a green signal to act and the team is in search of a male lead to reprise Kamal Hassan. Maestro Ilayaraja, who composed the music for the film Erra Gulabilu will compose the music for the sequel too. The script for this revenge thriller is about to complete and will go on sets in October.
